“RENEWAL”
Sue is a contemporary artist who lives and creates on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Sue is passionate about the natural environment and captures this with colour, shape and vibrancy in her work. Sue closely observes her changing world through the lenses of natural events, disasters and the raw beauty of mother nature as she fights to evolve and renew.
Artworks that evoke the spirit of country.

“Outback Journey”
As Dorothy McKellar so beautifully wrote in her poem “My Country”
“I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains of rugged mountain ranges of droughts and flooding rains, I love her far horizon, I love her jeweled sea, her beauty and terror, this wide brown land for me”.
These words continually resonate with me through my connection with country and the land. My constant inner voice is scanning and needing to capture the all the elements that the natural environment bestows. Time spent travelling, photography, plein air painting, emersion in nature sketching, photos on the public domain, Google Earth all hold inspiration and a desire to capture a visual story to be told
What is inspiring me!
-
the inspiration is all around me! what story do I want to tell?
-
how am I going to tell this story of nature and my soul? Go big, small, abstract, expressionistic, mixed media ……..
-
putting my ideas down on the canvas, working through the problems, imagining, creating, thinking, resolving and the creative flow ….
